Man shot during dominioes game in NE Houston, HPD says
HPD is searching for 2 alleged suspects who opened fire during a dominoes game in NE Houston.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The Houston Police Department said they are looking for at least two people after a shooting in northeast Houston left a man dead and another critically injured on Wednesday evening.

The incident happened around 10 p.m. outside a convenience store in the 4900 block of Laura Koppe Road, according to HPD.

According to officials, a game of dominoes was going on before shots rang out.

A 26-year-old man was found dead in the parking lot as officers arrived. EMS officials pronounced him dead at the scene.

The second man, who HPD said was in his 50s, was shot in the face while sitting in his truck. He was taken to the hospital for treatment and will be OK, officials said.

Officials said they are trying to determine what led up to the shooting and who was involved, but have not provided additional details. HPD said they believe the two men who were shot were bystanders.

HPD later said that witnesses recalled seeing a group of unidentified men shooting in the area before running off from the scene.

"A lot of cars, and when the shooting took place, everybody started scattering. So we don't have many witnesses. There are numerous pistol casings out there," Lieutenant Willkens said.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Houston Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
